Consider #1 pg.103
I chose to write on the country song titled "Mammas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys." The lyrics to this song are very interesting and they lead you to think about the overall message of the song. Throughout the entire song the lyrics suggest that the so called cowboy life isn't easy and that it requires a lot of time and sacrifice. For example at the beginning of the song they state the following, "they'll never stay home and they're always alone." To me that sounds like a tough lifestyle and certainly not the one I would want if I were to be married and have kids. Perhaps the writers of this song are trying to help us realize that being a cowboy was a thing of the past and that in the world today you should aspire to become something more. I feel that the writer is trying to warn its audience that being a cowboy isn't easy and that we should become doctors or lawyers. I think that the advice in this song is some what serious, and that we should take it into consideration. The writer of this song conveys his message in a relaxing way that makes you think twice to whether or not he is serious, but I think overall that the writer is serious about his message.
